Finally ...

... a lipgloss which claims to not stick to your hair! 'The unique water based formula gives 4 hours moisturisation without the stickiness usually associated with lip-gloss. The non sticky effect makes the gloss comfortable to wear as well as giving a super shiny result - so you can say goodbye to your hair sticking to your gloss!'. I haven't yet tried it but it sounds really good (the number of times it's been windy and I've stupidly put lipgloss on!) and the bottle is so cute!. It's by Bourjois and available at Boots. Currently, at Topshop and Dorothy Perkins there's a buy one get one free offer, where you don't pay for the lower item! I bought a top from each of these shops yesterday but couldn't find anything else that would ensure a free purchase. On the plus side, I got some great cropped jeans from River Island which were £10 from £29.99!

Most wanted

Right now, I'm craving these gorgeous ballet flats from Debenhams which are in the sale for £10. They have since sold out on the website!

Also, I'd love this handbag from Miss Selfridge:

Fridge magnets and Bomber jackets

Yesterday, I got loads of clothes in the sale including a cute khaki bomber jacket for half price and a cosy brown V neck jumper for autumn which was also half price from Jane Norman. And you'll never guess what I got from Clinton Cards! A Johnny Depp fridge magnet! It has my favourite picture of him on it too (when he had shorter hair). Miss Selfridge has some really great pieces at the moment; I got 2 nice tops from there and tried on some of their cropped jeans but they needed to be longer (they looked too long to be shorts but too short to be cropped jeans). I looked through Topshop's sale rack but didn't find anything and instead bought a white smock top that wasn't in the sale. It was so crazy in River Island! There were clothes flying everywhere as well as a lot of pushing and shoving. I made it to the changing room with a pair of jeans which were on sale (£30 to £10!) but they wouldn't even go past my knee! Contrary to what I previously thought about clothes sizes being changed into cm as opposed to size 8, 10 e.t.c to discourage anorexia and to make all shop sizes the same ('What?! How stupid! As if!') at that particular moment I was all for it. Moments earlier, minutes even, in Miss Selfridge I'd managed to pull, twist and squirm into a pair of size 4 jeans but now I couldn't negotiate the size 6 River Island jeans any further. Although, apparently, tighter fitting clothing is going to be big which could see off the smock top, much to most of the country's dismay!

The Sales

The sales are still here! Most of the time I love trawling through rack after rack finding bargins but sometimes I really hate it. I went shopping the other day and searched all the racks but only found typical sales clothes that you know are just there because the shop couldn't sell them first time round. I came away with a metallic gold bubble top that wasn't even in the sale! Sales are like Marmite; you either love them or hate them. I think I'm somewhere in between, although a special find that you find once in a blue moon always assures me that the sales are a god send. A top sales tip is to NEVER only buy something because it's in the sale. Try to ask yourself whether or not you'd buy it if it wasn't in the sale and to what event can you wear it to. Also, try the clothes on! There's been so many occasions where I've seen, say, a gorgeous pair of jeans on the shelf but then I've tried them on and they've looked simply hideous. It's a good idea to get to the sales as soon as possible as then you will get to grab the best stuff!

Huh?

Today, Victoria and David Beckham (aka. Posh 'n' Becks) finally moved to LA after months of preparations. In order to promote themselves they stared in a magazine shoot for 'W'. When I first saw the pictures on the news this morning, I was SHOCKED (yes, SHOCKED!!!). What on earth is Victoria wearing? It probably cost a huge amount of money but she's totally got a pair of granny pants on and the ensemble just doesn't seem to go. Sack the stylist! And what's with all the fake tan and boobs that look so inproportional to her scarily skinny frame? There is no way she eats proper meals and is healthy; it always makes me laugh when celebrities say that food 'bores' them and that they 'simply don't have time to eat'.

THE bag

Unfortunately, I haven't been one of the lucky few to get my hands on the 'it' bag of 2007 which originally retailed for a mere £5 and is now being sold on Ebay in excess of £150. It's so unfair! The bag was designed by Anya Hindmarch for Sainsbury's, to encourage shoppers to use less carrier bags and so be more environmentally friendly (although, it's been reported that the bag is made in China using child labour which is not so friendly). Fashionistas across the country queued for hours outside their local Sainsburys and with each store only getting about 30 bags each only a select amount of shoppers got one. I'm still grieving for the loss of the 'it' bag but I came across a similar bag that made me smile. 'The "I'm NOT a smug twat" bag is a reaction to the it-bag phenomenon, a reaction to the faddishness of fashion...and it helps you avoid using plastic bags!' - from here.

I recently saw an advert for the paperback, Fashion Babylon, in Grazia magazine and made a mental note to buy it next time I hit the shops; afterall, the Daily Express claims it 'is a must read for every fashionista’ and is 'The Sunday Times Bestseller'. The book, written by Imogen Edwards-Jones and Anonymous offers an insight into the glamorous fashion industry and its been said that if you enjoyed The Devil Wears Prada (great book, great film) then you're sure to enjoy this gossipy feast. It's now avaliable in paperback and hardback (the picture to the left being the hardback version). Grab the paperback in Tesco for only £3.73.

Gucci of the week

Rather than an outfit of the week post, I decided to show off these Gucci items I discovered after browsing the site and completely falling in love with them - head over heels. Speaking of heels, I adore these 'hollywood' mid heel open-toe sandals with horsebit for £240. The classic Gucci fabric epitamises glamour and expense. Just think how good they'd look with a black suit or a floaty dress!

Another Gucci love of mine is their evening clutch bags and just look at this beauty! This black snakeskin clutch with light gold hardware costs £570, which is rather expensive, but I'm sure whoever buys it will use it alot because it's just so gorgey! It could be used to make a simple jeans and top outfit become an luxury evening outfit and equally glam up your evening dresses.

Emma Watson - Look at her now

The new Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix recently had it's premier and it was there that Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger, turned up in a gorgeous Chanel dress that had lovely waist and shoulder embellishment which she teamed with simple heels. She's certainly had a style transformation from the days of the earlier films where to a premier she wore a grey smock like dress and red boa. I want the green dress so much!

Photocall for the movies release (look at the nice green dress and beads!)

Top: A younger, less stylish Emma. Bottom: Emma's dress for the European premier for the latest film with co-stars Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley)

Davina McCall and Nail Blocks

Big Brother is back on our screens and so is Davina McCall, aged 39, who has been presenting it as long as the sky has been blue. It is now official that she is stuck in a style rut, opting for black outfits all the time; black suits, black skirt, black shoes, black top, black coat. I honestly cannot remember the last time I saw her in any colour other than black which is a shame because she has regained her slim figure after childbirth and she really doesn't need to do the whole "I'll wear black because it's slimming". Come on Davina! Inject some summer colour into those outfits - what about a smock dress? Or a white blouse with one of your favourite skirts? This Chloe silk camisole top would be perfect: £522 from Net-a-Porter. I went shopping yesterday and got a gorgeous jacket from Miss Selfridge for £25 from £40 - there's a sale on! (Although I nearly didn't get it because there was a massive thunderstorm and the power went off!) I also got a Nail Block for £3.50 from The Body Shop as I had seen that it was recommended on Style Bytes and I can see why! It's amazing! My nails are super smooth and so shiny it looks like I've got nail polish on. It really is one of those have-to-see-it-to-believe-it products but it is well worth the buy.
